I had upgraded my operating system from windows 7 to windows 10 on my laptop. It is a Dell inspiron 1545 32bit. After updating, the audio is not working and the media in my laptop has no sound output both in the speakers and headphone.

However, the OS sounds and youtube sound is audible only through headphones or external speakers connected through 3.5mm jack. I checked the dell website for audio driver, but it says there is no driver for this model yet.

Need help urgently. I do not want to roll back to windows 7 because everything else works perfectly fine.

Follow the below methods and check if it helps. Method 1: Uninstall the Audio drivers through Device manager. Please follow the steps given here to uninstall and then reinstall the Display drivers. A) Press Windows +X keys on the keyboard. B) Select Device Manager. C) Find and Audio inputs and outputs and expand it. D) Right-click the available drivers, and click uninstall.

E) Click on OK if it prompts. F) Follow the onscreen instructions to Uninstall audio drivers. G) Reboot the computer and Windows will automatically installs the audio drivers. If the issue persist, follow the below method.

Method 2: You can run the Playing audio troubleshooter on Windows 10. Follow the below steps to perform System maintenance troubleshooter.

Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel. Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel. Click on View all on the left navigation pane. Click on Playing audio. Click on Advanced on the Playing audio dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).
